Halloween Fun - Part Four

Yeah its Halloween Day and we are so excited we could hardly sleep! (Well, Mom didn't sleep for other reasons than excitement, ie:Chloe) There is a lot to do and a lot of fun to be had today. At 9:30am the kids have a Halloween Parade, they all parade through the school one grade level at a time so the others can watch when it is not their turn. All the kids really get into it, but not as much as the teachers do. We had a pirate, Snow White, a #2 pencil, a Ballerina, Cruela Deville, GI Joe, a baseball player, Little Bo Peep, and that was just the teacher's costume! It was definatley the most political parade I have been too. There were kids with "Vote McCain" signs and kids yelling "Vote Obama!" I heard two kids in the hall saying, "America is doomed if Obama wins," and other said "no if McCain wins we can kiss it goodbye!" Politics, well the kids are even into it this election, it's going to be interesting. Then at 1:00pm I was back to the school for class parties! (Did I mention I am Homeroom Mom for Kenzie & Calvin classes. CRAZY!!!)

Calvin and his"Hobbes" in the parade with his friends, Andrew and Darian.

Calvin's teacher Mr. Whimmer, we were surprised he didn't dress up as a Ute!

Kenzie and her friends Gabby and Lauren.

Mrs.Shupe, Kenzie's teacher dressed up like a pirate! She had told the kids she was going to be a teacher and they were a little bummed. Surprise!

Mrs. Johnson, Corby's teacher was Snow White and that fits her perfectly. She is always singing to the kids and teaching them songs!

Corbyn's class loved watching the parade & parting with her teacher who is from South Africa, Australia and England! How fun and did I mention she loves Wombats? They played Bingo, did the Monster Mash and threw bean bags in the pumpkin!

Kenzie's party was great! They played throw the beanbag into the witches pot, decorated cookies, had to eat doughnuts off a rope and put their hand in the "Blood & Guts" station. They also ate lots of popcorn and chocolate milk. What a fun party!

Calvin's part was great, too! They decorated cookies, played Halloween Bingo and the best game of all..."the Mummy Wrap!" Calvin was the mummy and he was a great sport, even when his friends wrapped up his face! And as Dad would say, "Fun was had by all!"

Halloween Fun -Part Three

Wednesday we needed a day of rest, but Thursday we got right back to it. We made Scarecrow cupcakes for our Family Halloween party and had a lot of fun making them. We browned the meat for the chili and got all the decorations ready for the school parties on Friday. What a day!

We improvised on a few cupcakes and made our own creations because the scarecrows took awhile to assemble. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Halloween Fun -Part Two

Next was Tuesday, and Calvin kept up the fun at Young Men's, where they had a combined activity, a pumpkin decorating contest. What a fun night a little football with the bishop to start the activity off and then pumpkins and candy apples to finish the night. Yeah Young Men's!

I try really hard to get a picture of Calv both smiling and looking at the camera! Nice try!

A Week of Halloween Fun - Day One

We started off the week with the traditional sugar cookie marathon. We always make the same batch and Mom always forgets how many cookies this batch makes, so we decorate and decorate and decorate some more! But the kids love it!

Even Chloe got into the sugar cookie fun!

Calvin's uni-brow pumpkin cookie! Nice Calv!
