Labor Day at Lake Freemont

It is so great to have good friends! The Ormand-Beesley's invited us to their cabin in Pinedale, Wyoming for Labor Day Weekend. It was a great cabin and had a gorgeous view. There was hiking, skiing, tubing, swimming (in 60 degree water), pancake eating (with molasses), game playing and lots of fun and laughter. My kids said, "if we had a cabin up here we would never go home." Thats my outdoor kids! They had a bench up on the hill that overlooked the lake and it was called "Hot Chocolate Ridge. They have a dog, named Freemont, and Blue came along for the fun, too. We are so blessed to have good friends to spend the weekend with. Thanks for an unforgetable, great time!

The crazy group: Gabri, Kenzie, Calvin, Chloe, Nicole, Kiaya, Summer, & Corbyn

View from the cabin wrap around deck.

We loved the log cabin feel and the view was gorgeous!

Summer and Corbyn having fun on the teeter-totter.

Kenzie and Gabri striking a pose! Little Divas!

The famous "Hot Chocolate Ridge." (notice the bench is carved out. So fun!)

The kids call this "the dungeon"

A fun day of hiking!!!

Chloe loved touching the leaves on the trees!

Yummy! Yummy! Wild Raspberry picking!

Deer Bones! The kids loved finding cool bones!

Adding rocks to the pile. Mark started this pile when he was a boy and it was a fun tradition to be apart of. Weather often flatens it down so over the years they just keep adding to it.

Calvin being the "strong man," adding a boulder to the pile!

Blue loving the outdoors!

A much needed nap after a long day of hiking!

What a view! I could stay out here all day!

RueAnn and Nicole enjoying the boat ride.

The girls and their dogs!

The favorite spot to take a nap...the hull of the boat.

Calvin & Summer "tubing it up!"

Kenzie and Kiaya fearless on the tube!

Chloe running to play fetch with Freemont.

Chloe and her favorite pal, Calvin.

Freemont will go get a stick anywhere, the bushes, the lake, the mud. Blue...not so much, but he did try.

Mark is base as he challenges the girls to swim from the shore to him, if their not chicken. He was the only adult brave enough to get in the water at 5:00pm

Corbyn after a cold, wet swim!

Chloe's favorite place to be...the boat!

The Dare: To jump off the boat and swim to shore in the freezing cold water.

First Day of School

Calvin, Kenzie, & Corbyn were all excited to start school again. Summer was fun but busy and we were all excited to get back to a schedule. Calvin started Junior High and definately was not having his picture taken in front of his school no matter how much I pleaded. Kenzie loves her teacher, Mrs. Pratt, and can't wait to start all the fun stuff she told Kenzie they would do this year. Corbyn has Ms. Nuckles and she is so fun and sweet, I think Corbyn is just going to love her. She let the kids make paperdolls on "meet the teacher night." How can you go wrong with a fun activity right off the bat. We are excited to see what the new year brings!
